State of Georgia v. Kamau Sadiki

Formerly known as Freddie Hilton, Kamau Sadiki was convicted in 2003 of the 1971 murder and armed robbery of Atlanta Police Officer James Green, and sentenced to life imprisonment plus 10 years. In 1971, Freddie Hilton was a member of the Black Panther Party (BPP), and later joined the Black Liberation Army (BLA) in the 1960s and 1970s. Due to a lack of evidence and witnesses’ failures to identify him in a photographic array, the case was closed in 1971. With increased concern over terrorism after 9/11, he was arrested based on the statements of former BLA members. Mr. Sadiki is represented by Attorneys Steve Scarborough, Akil Secret and Teri Thompson.
