With a legal career that spans over 30 years, Teri Thompson serves as an Associate Judge and Adjunct Professor. She has been a trial attorney in Georgia and in federal capital cases across the country. She lectures in Criminal Procedure, Constitutional Law, Juvenile Law, Corrections, and the American Court Systems.

Teri serves as a volunteer coach of the Spelman College Speech and Debate Team, the largest HBCU speech and debate team in the world.

Training pre-law students in trial skills from opening statement to cross-examination, Teri led the Spelman College Mock Trial Team in competitions across Georgia and Florida.
Mentor, Spelman College “Sister-2-Sister” Professional Mentoring Program
Through Spelman College’s strategic mentoring program that matches students with alumnae in their fields, Teri mentors students interested in law and advocacy.
Mentor, Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)
Giving a voice to the voiceless, Teri served as a CASA volunteer for foster children in the DeKalb County Juvenile Court.
